The presentation today by Stacey Mulcahy was a brilliant outline of the different types of social media and how they impact the average user. A huge part of online entertainment is user generated and developers as a whole need to embrace this.
Stacey went on to talk about the integration of APIs within most apps and how they have evolved, and how important they are to most major web applications. As the internet grows, it becomes less and less like a web of separate points but more as a single entity run by millions of servers around the world.
She introduced the Facebook Open Graph platform as being much better and different than the previous Connect platform. You can basically use Facebook on any other website imaginable using the Open Graph.
