Eastwood and the pilot managed to escape the sinking aircraft and then swam an astonishing 3 miles to safety. 
  • He ran for mayor of Carmel, California, won, and overturned a ban on ice cream parlours.
  • He has 7 children.
  • He composes film scores, plays piano, and sings!
