The Challenge

BartenderOne, a world-class bartending school, wanted to boost their profile and spread the word about their training services to potential bartenders, event planners and bar and restaurant owners. Their goal: to be the number one bartending program in the world, with the number one website.

They needed us to design and develop a cutting-edge site that would function as a complete online sales tool for their training programs, and also as a vehicle for iPour, a unique social network for bartenders, servers and employers.

The Solution

We created a complex, custom site that offers in-depth info about each of BartenderOne's services. We started by creating a clearly defined path to the sale — for each of the client?s defined user groups. Web design and development was done with web 2.0 philosophy in mind, with an easy-to-use interface, lots of user generated content and these robust features:

• A visually appealing home page with easy, at-a-glance usabilility gives the user clear info on BartenderOne's various offerings.
• A registration component allows students to search for bartender training via their location.
• iPour — a custom-created online social bartending network — accepts user registrations, and encourages user-generated content, which is a great word-of-mouth advertising tool that gets picked up by search engines.
• Online PayPal integration for secure online payment.
• A custom CMS allows BartenderOne to easily manage their own content.
• Complete search engine optimization (SEO-friendly keywords, URLs, title tags, meta tags, alt tags and image names) ensures great search rankings.

The Result

The site ranks great on Google, Bing and Yahoo, it's remarkably easy to use ? and it looks professional and exciting. The folks at BartenderOne — and, more importantly, their end users — LOVE the look and usability of the engaging new site. It's already making a difference in enrolment and in-house training requests.
